Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500g) halal beef sirloin or tenderloin, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup halal beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream (halal-certified)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Beef

  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the beef slices until browned. Remove and set aside.

Sauté Vegetables

  • In the same skillet, add onions and garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
  • Add mushrooms and cook until softened.

Make the Sauce

  • Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to coat evenly.
  • Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Combine and Serve

  • Return the beef to the skillet, simmering for 5 more minutes until tender.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and garnish with parsley.
  • Serve over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
