Halal Paneer Butter Masala

Ingredients

  • 250g paneer, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 2 medium tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cashews, soaked and blended into a paste
  • 1 cup heavy cream (halal-certified)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Sauté the Paneer

  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a pan and lightly fry paneer cubes until golden. Set aside.

Prepare the Curry Base

  • Melt the remaining butter in the pan. Sauté onions until translucent.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
  • Stir in tomato puree, cashew paste, turmeric, chili powder, and sugar. Cook until the oil separates.

Add Cream and Paneer

  • Mix in heavy cream and garam masala, simmering for 5 minutes.
  • Add fried paneer cubes, cooking until heated through.

Garnish and Serve

  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan or basmati rice.
