Halal Rose Sharbat

Ingredients

For the homemade rose syrup:

  • One cup of organic or halal-certified sugar
  • One cup of water
  • One-half cup of dried edible rose petals or rose water (halal-certified)
  • One teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
  • Optional: A pinch of natural pink or red food coloring

For the sharbat:

  • Two tablespoons of rose syrup (store-bought or homemade)
  • One glass of chilled water, milk, or lemonade
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Chopped pistachios, almonds, or edible rose petals for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Rose Syrup:

  • Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add rose petals or rose water to the syrup and simmer for five minutes.
  • Stir in lemon juice and optional natural food coloring. Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain the mixture to remove petals and store the syrup in a glass bottle.

Make the Sharbat:

  • In a glass, mix two tablespoons of rose syrup with chilled water, milk, or lemonade. Adjust the syrup amount to your sweetness preference.
  • Add ice cubes and stir well.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Top with chopped nuts or edible rose petals for an elegant finish. Serve immediately.
