For the Pudding:
- 1 ½ cups of pitted dates, chopped
- 1 ½ cups of boiling water
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ cup of halal-certified unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ¾ cups of self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon of alcohol-free vanilla extract
For the Caramel Sauce:
- 1 cup of halal-certified heavy cream
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- ½ cup of halal-certified unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon of date syrup or alcohol-free vanilla extract
Prepare the Caramel Sauce:
In a saucepan, combine cream, brown sugar, butter, and date syrup. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens (about 5–7 minutes).
