Ingredients

For the Coffee Soak:

  • 1 1/2 cups brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

For the Mascarpone Filling:

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

For the Layers:

  • 24 halal-certified ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

Brew the Coffee Soak

  • Brew strong coffee or espresso and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and sugar, if desired. Set aside.

Make the Mascarpone Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, whisk mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, ensuring it remains light and fluffy.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee soak, ensuring they’re moist but not soggy.
  • Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish or individual serving glasses.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone filling evenly over the ladyfingers.
  • Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chill and Serve

  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  • Before serving, dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder.
